FreeAi.run is a web directory for finding AI tools and websites by keyword, category, or task.
Core capabilities
The homepage search box asks for a tool name or a job, and its placeholder uses “remove background” as the example. Next to the box are an Internal option and buttons labeled ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Claude, and Bing. The search page asks for a keyword and says it matches a name, description, or category.
Narrow the list by task or category
Homepage chips jump to Chatbots, Image Gen, Copywriting, and Coding. Above the cards are four filters: Newly added, Free to use, Editor's picks, and Open source. The task page groups tools into AI Video Generators, AI Image Generators & Editors, AI Audio & Voice Generators, and AI Writing Assistants. The category index adds collections for New This Month, New This Week, Best AI Tools, Open Source, Affiliate Programs, and Deals & Discounts, plus a topic sidebar. When this page was reviewed, that sidebar labeled the full set All (435). Treat that figure as the index’s own total at the time, not a fixed catalog size.
Cards on the homepage and category index show a name, a short description, category tags, and a pricing label such as Free, Freemium, or Paid.
Open one listing, then decide whether to visit
A listing page shows the name, one-line description, categories, a screenshot, and a Visit Website button. On the Invoiceize listing, the side panel also showed Pricing, Platforms, Founded, and Listed. Its body covered what the site is, key features, use cases, and who it suits, then linked to similar tools, more tools in the same category, free alternatives, and open-source alternatives. The open-source block says those tools have GitHub repositories and that each repository’s license should be checked before use.
The site also keeps a Skills section. The posts there explain Claude and agent skills. That section is for reading, separate from looking up a tool in the directory.
How to use it
- Open the site and search for a keyword, or start from a shortcut chip, a task collection, or a category.
- Narrow the cards with Newly added, Free to use, Editor's picks, or Open source.
- Open a listing, read the introduction and any pricing, platform, founded-year, and listed-date fields, then use Visit Website to continue on that product’s own site.
- To submit a product, open Submit. The form requires a tool URL, name, tagline of up to 160 characters, a Markdown description of 500 to 5,000 characters, a square logo, and up to four screenshots. You may choose up to three categories, and you must set a pricing model and platforms. Optional fields include a discount code, founded year, YouTube demo, GitHub repository, X profile, and affiliate URL. The description can be entered in EN, ZH, and JA.
- Pick the free listing or a paid plan before you send it. The free path requires a dofollow backlink in your website footer and a manual review, which the submit page says happens within 7 days. Paid plans are described on the pricing page as going live immediately after payment.
Who it suits
It fits someone who already knows the kind of tool they want and would like a short brief, a pricing label, and the listed platforms before opening the vendor site. It also fits a maker who wants an AI tool, SaaS product, or other website listed.
The directory does not draft, draw, or write code in place of the product you find. For that work, leave through Visit Website. A free submission is a poor fit if you cannot add the required footer link. The terms also say FreeAi.run is not responsible for third-party sites, products, or content linked from the directory.
Pricing, access and limits
Browsing, searching, and opening listings do not require a fee. English, Simplified Chinese (/zh), and Japanese (/ja) pages are available. The product is a website; the pages reviewed do not offer an iOS, Android, or desktop app. The terms say some services require an account. The pricing page shows Stripe and PayPal, and the terms also name Creem as a payment processor. The privacy policy says full card numbers are not stored by the platform, and that the site uses cookies, including Google Analytics, Plausible, Baidu Analytics, and Google AdSense.
Submit AI Plans lists three paid options. A separate Advertise AI Plans tab is on the same page; its prices are not repeated here.
- One-Time is $9.99. The card lists homepage featuring, a highlighted listing, 3+ dofollow backlinks, and a permanent listing that does not require a backlink.
- Monthly Promotion is shown at $5.00 per month and marked Most Popular. The card lists a monthly move back to the top, continued homepage exposure, a listing that stays highlighted, and 5+ dofollow backlinks. The FAQ on the same page says the plan starts at $1 for the first month, so the checkout amount is the figure to rely on.
- Featured Listing is $29.00 per month. The card lists a site-wide top banner on a 7-day rotation and spotlight placement on high-traffic pages.
Paid cards describe the permanent listing as not requiring a backlink from your site. The free listing does require a dofollow footer link, manual approval, and a review within 7 days.
A refund may be requested within 14 days of payment. The policy looks at downtime longer than 24 continuous hours, billing errors, unauthorized charges, and a service that was not delivered as described. Listings, promotions, and advertising that were already delivered are generally not refunded. A recurring plan can be canceled with the payment provider and stops at the end of the current billing period; promotional placement then ends and the listing returns to its base state. The terms offer the service as is and do not promise uninterrupted access.
Frequently asked questions
Can I look up tools without an account?
Yes. The homepage, category index, and listing pages open without payment. The terms say only some services require an account, and submitting a listing is one of them.
How does a free submission differ from a paid one?
A free submission needs a dofollow link in your footer and a manual review within 7 days. Paid plans are described as going live immediately after payment, with homepage exposure or highlighting, and the permanent listing does not ask you to place a backlink.
Is Monthly Promotion $5 or $1?
The plan card says $5.00 per month. The FAQ on that pricing page says the first month starts at $1. Use the amount shown at checkout.
What does a listing page show?
It shows the name, a short description, categories, a screenshot, and Visit Website. On the Invoiceize page, the side panel also showed pricing, platforms, founded year, and listed date, and the page linked to similar, free, and open-source alternatives.
Are Chinese and Japanese available?
Yes. /zh and /ja open with Simplified Chinese and Japanese titles. The submit form also has EN, ZH, and JA fields for the listing copy.
